Peer Group Resources

Every month, the Minnesota spinal cord injury peer group meets. During these meetings we often discuss resources available for the community. The following web page is a repository of the products, resources, and services that we have gone over.

Apparel

Kinetic Balance adaptive clothing 
David Tarro is working with this company and can provide a discount to those interested in the adaptive clothing available. They are based in Europe and have adapted jackets, pants, and snow pants.

GlideWear
The GlideWear boxer shorts were recommended to prevent friction wounds. It is produced by Tamarac Habilitation Technology.

Fidlock Magnetic Clasps
These are clasps that some quads can use on clothing. 
 
IZ Adaptive Clothing 
Wide range of adapted clothing. The pants were recommended.

Billy's Adapted Shoes
Stylish shoes that have adapted options, including zippers and wider shoes.

Arcade belt
These belts worked well for a lower-level quad.

Adaptive ponchos
Easy to put on jackets that cover upper and lower body.

Pants-er Ratchet
Explained how a rope ratchet can be modified to make a device that easily pulls down pants.

CADI CDCS
CADI CDCS waiver self-directed plan (CDCS) may get less overall money but you can direct how the money gets spent including clothing or adaptive gear

PCA

Electronic Visit Verification Stipend Program
As of October 31, 2023, workers can qualify for a one-time electronic visit verification (EVV) stipend of $200. The stipend is designed to offset the potential cost of using individual devices to access EVV systems.
