MNSCIA: Making a difference, by making connections
We've been busy at the Minnesota Spinal Cord Injury Association (MNSCIA) connecting individuals with spinal cord injuries to the resources they need. Here are a few things going on in the Minnesota Spinal Cord Injury Community.
The MNSCIA September Soiree
In September, the MNSCIA hosted a grand soiree! There was food, drink, music, and we even had a chance to meet with SCI leaders from across the country! If this sounds like a good time, make sure to join us at our next event on December 7.
MNSCIA Member Kickoff
On October 5th we held our first membership event. The aptly named “MNSCIA Member Kickoff” had a football theme, and we encouraged those attending to show up supporting their favorite football team. It was a really fun, casual way to introduce ourselves to the Minnesota SCI community. See our MNSCIA Facebook page for pictures!
Our membership is our strength as it is the most important resource that we can offer each other – support. Make sure to tell your friends to sign up at mnscia.org.
Courage Kenny Institute's ABLE Program is expanding
Are you looking for a new type of exercise? The Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute is expanding it's successful Activity-Based Locomotor Exercise (ABLE) program. Learn more about this exciting way to keep your body in shape on our blog.
Save the date!
Join the MNSCIA on Sunday, December 7th, at 2 p.m. We'll meet at Toby Keith's in St. Louis Park for our year end celebration and member meeting. We'll plan on eating, sharing stories, and recruiting volunteers for all of the great things that the community will accomplish in 2015. We'll have lots of free appetizers for you and your friends. Family members, friends, caregivers, professionals, and those with SCIs are all welcome. If you want to be a part of planning next year's activities and programs, you'll want to come. Or, if you just want hang out and watch football, this is the place.
See you there!
